Peas love cool weather. Plant them early in the Spring as soon as the ground can be worked. Peas are best planted 4-6 weeks before the last frost when the soil is at least 45F. Be careful choosing a spot that will not get inundated with melting snow or spring rainfalls.

Sow seeds 1" deep and 2" apart, in rows 12-24" apart. Water lightly as it is likely the ground will be moist enough. Only water if the plants are wilting. Weed carefully since roots are fragile and shallow. Sow more peas 6-8 weeks later for successive harvests.
